Annie has been working as a sculptor in copper for the past 10 years. She hand makes water features and garden sculpture from reclaimed copper sourced from scrap metal yards and renovated houses.
All designs are inspired by plant forms such as lotus, arum lilies and flute flowers to create natural arrangements. The water trickles down the flowers and pods to pool in the lower leaves creating a gentle relaxing feature. Annie also creates bird baths and decorative garden stakes to enhance the garden or courtyard.
Old hot water systems, copper boilers, guttering, roofing, pipe and electrical wire are all used to create these incredible pieces of art. The copper is cut into shape and various patterns and textures are created by beating them with a hammer on the anvil. Once pieces have been formed they are assembled and welded to create the final piece.
Your garden is not complete without a piece of her incredible work.

Where do you get your inspiration?
"I get my inspiration from nature, gardens and even from my customers. Often customers come to me wanting a particular leaf shape which opens me up to a whole new world of ideas."
What has been your favourite piece and why?
"My favourite piece was a feature that I made for Floriade. This feature was a large group of lotus pods and leaves rising up out of a large pond. It was spectacular!"
What is your favourite material to work with?
"My favourite material is definitely copper because it is so beautiful and soft and has amazing patinas."
If you were to expand your product range to something entirely different, what would it be?
"I would make vases and chandeliers covered in copper flowers."
Describe your products in three words...
"Natural. Relaxing. Zen."
