Introducing a world-class range of handmade glass dining-ware from Australian designer Marguerite Dore.
Marguerite chose the design names as she created each individual range and reflected on what these words meant and how they were intricately meshed into her life and her love of glass. Marguerite’s goal is to create glass dining-ware that allows people to appreciate its natural beauty.
When you are looking at, holding and using her products, Marguerite wants you to enjoy them. The range is 100% Australian made and owned and are colourful, highly functional and extremely durable. These plates were made to be used. They are theatrical, versatile and for the first time allow chefs and creative home cooks the opportunity to use the plate as a canvas.
Her logo is carefully embossed into every plate, so you can be sure that you have an original. Each plate created is covered with a 12 month guarantee.
View and purchase Marguerite’s complete range at retail prices on her website. Special pricing applies for commercial quantities.
DESIGNED + MADE IN
Where do you get your inspiration?
"My designs are inspired by Australia’s natural icons, the colour pallet inspired by the ochres of the Australian desert, the aqua of the Great Barrier Reef and the green of the Daintree."
What has been your favourite piece and why?
"It’s the glass its self, as l appreciates its natural beauty. The quality of the raw materials I use gives my products purity and a sexiness that becomes fluid and organic in shape."
What is your favourite material to work with?
"Glass made for kiln forming; this contributes the depth and reflection that makes glass so appealing. The real essence of glass is that it's a manipulator of light. Due to the expansion of the glass while it is being fired, each platter will vary slightly giving a truly unique character."
If you were to expand your product range to something entirely different, what would it be?
"It will always be in glass as this is my medium, at present l have the first range out with is the blue range with more to follow in the future hence why there are three colours of my business cards one for each range, blue, pink and teal."
Describe your products in three words...
"Unique. Sophisticated. Original."
