Rediscover Ceramics by Danica Wichtermann and experience the delicate beauty of the wheel thrown vessel. Since 2006, Danica has been designing and creating beautifully unique ceramic artwork, divine wares for you and your home, and organic sculptural works.
Her pieces are not only Australian made, but are also greatly inspired by our amazing bush land, flora, sea and landscape. Collections include Australian motif vessels, works inspired by endangered Australian flora, colourful carved centre pieces for tables, vases, candle holders, aesthetic sculptural works, small dishes and a multifunctional porcelain tapas range.
Although she has a variety of different collections, the works follow similar themes and are all created from porcelain or stoneware clay on the potter’s wheel. They begin as symmetrical vessels and are then gradually altered or carved into by hand, making them completely one of a kind.
Don’t miss your chance to own, use and adore one of these unique ceramic pieces. They are to be treasured, explored and discovered; will make a lovely addition to your home, and are excellent for everyday use, as well as special occasions.

Where do you get your inspiration?
"Within my work I explore the notion of ‘rediscovering ceramics,’ drawing inspiration from the Australian bush, flora, sea and landscape; specifically its unseen or hidden qualities. They reflect colour, form and feeling and are an individual expression of nature; of self."
What has been your favourite piece and why?
"I have so many favourites. I get so much pleasure watching a piece transform throughout the making process and then taking it out of the kiln, to be in awe as once again it has gone beyond what I could imagine. So for me it is more about favourite processes."
What is your favourite material to work with?
"Although it can be a little more challenging to use, Southern Ice Porcelain is by far my favourite. It is well known for its strength, qualities of translucency and crystalline whiteness. Ever since I began using it I have been constantly testing its boundaries and capabilities; exploring its amazing qualities."
If you were to expand your product range to something entirely different, what would it be?
"I am constantly exploring and expanding my ideas; from aesthetic works, sculptural pieces, illuminated vessels, and functional home-wares. I have always had a passion for arts, craft and design, and I know that my journey of maker and creator will never end. I look forward to sharing many more creations."
