WILD FOREST WEAVING
Wild Forest Weaving is owned by Stephanie, who is sole designer and creator of a variety of tactile and functional items.
The main focus of Wild Forest Weaving is to create items that manifest the kind of world Steph dreams of living in, one of greater integrity, respect, and honesty for all people, all beings and the natural world.
The creation process of any item from Wild Forest Weaving not only involves how it looks and feels, but brings into consideration the origins and ethics of all components, and transparency about where and how every component was sourced and made. These details are available in the product descriptions.
Only natural materials and plant dyes are used so that eventually any item can be safely composted when it has been ‘loved to death’, and any metal components recycled or reused.
One of the greater aims of this label is also to create items which offer comfort and simplicity as a kind of refuge from the harsher and more mechanised aspects of our time.

Where do you get your inspiration?
"A large proportion of my inspiration is summed up in the label of Wild Forest Weaving - I am blessed to live in an area surrounded by stunning rainforest - but also in any aspect of the natural world, whose palette and patterns are infinite."
What has been your favourite piece and why?
"It's a beautiful thing when form and function flow together, so probably my hammocks are my favourite so far.
There is a great deal of potential to modify the design and enhance this meditative space by tinting ropes different colours with plant dyes and adding all kinds of sensory materials."
What is your favourite material to work with?
"Unbleached flax. It has a very nurturing colour and light reflecting qualities that can look quite magical, rather like woven moonlight. It is also super strong."
If you were to expand your product range to something entirely different, what would it be?
"There are so many ideas to seed, but I'd love to make semi-architectural hanging pod spaces for kids to have quiet play time and chill out. Come to that I'd like to make them for adults too!
I would also love to make vertical gardens that are sensory art out of succulent 'flowers'."
Describe your products in three words...
